Do you have a woman after your own heart? I know I do. She is the perfect blend of beauty and strength. I’ll never be able to meet this perfect woman from the bible in person. But reading her words in proverb 31:10-31 gives me hope and insight that embodies God’s design for womanhood. In this blog post I want to share 11 characteristics of this wonderful woman with you.
She is virtuous and valuable
Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?
She is more precious than rubies.
[Proverb 31:10]
She has high moral standards and act according to value and principle. She has also realized her inherent value. She not only values herself but also her entire family.
She is trustworthy and life enriching
Her husband can trust her,
and she will greatly enrich his life.
[Proverb 31:11]
She is trusted by her husband because she maintains consistency in all aspect of her life. She has also discovered her life’s purpose and is therefore a blessing and enriches her husband’s life.
She is hardworking and a good provider
She finds wool and flax
and busily spins it.
She is like a merchant’s ship,
bringing her food from afar [Proverb 31:13-14]
Her family enjoys her present because she works hard and provide food for them.
She is an early riser and a master planner
She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household
and plan the day’s work for her servant girls.[Proverb 31:15]
She has realized the importance of being an early bird. This helps her to be productive and plans her day well.
She is entrepreneurial and a go-getter
She goes to inspect a field and buys it;
with her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She makes sure her dealings are profitable;
her lamp burns late into the night.
[Proverb 31-16, 18]
She continuously looks for new opportunities. She take risks and rip the reward of her effort.
She is generous and open-handed
She extends a helping hand to the poor
and opens her arms to the needy.
[Proverb 31:20]
She is a cheerful giver and look for ways to bless others.
She is stylish and skillful
She makes her own bedspreads.
She dresses in fine linen and purple gown.
[Proverb 31: 22]
She dresses elegantly and design her own clothes.
She is prepared for the future
She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future. [Proverb 31:25]
She plans ahead of time and focus on achieving her future goals. This gives her strength and energy to face the future.
She is wise and kind
When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness. [Proverb 31: 26]
She is guided by wisdom and think before she speaks.
She is a blessing to her family
Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her:
There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,
but you surpass them all! [Proverb 31:28-29]
She gives her family a reason to smile. And through this her husband and children are proud of her.
She is God fearing
… a woman who fears the lord will be greatly praised.[ Proverb 31:30b]
She is devoted to doing God’s work. She spend time developing a relationship with God and knows that we cannot live without God’s grace.
